Impossible mazes
If Franz Kafka were to take his pen to a sheet of paper and draw the curvy walls of a maze, I imagine the final product would be an impossible maze. Within my dream of Kafka's maze, the explorer is permitted to methodically progress, and she is given positive signs that finding the finish is attainable. An impossible maze violates the designer-explorer contract that promises to reward the explorer for braving the dangers of the maze. However, the sadistic element is downplayed by announcing in advance that the maze is impossible. Exploring a maze that is known to be impossible is more like reading a Kafka novel than being inside of one.
My to-do list for this category:
- Diabolically plant an impossible maze while thouroughly hiding the fact that the maze is impossible.
- Create a maze titled "CEO fired me for not holding the elevator." RESOLVED.
